So, Dieuwke and I (well, mostly Dieuwke but I'll take the credit for it too) found this show that we like to watch occasionally-- just a quick 20 min. an episode, mindless little show- appropriate for kids too, bonus!-- called The Cake Boss.
I had to laugh when I got home from work today and I walk into the living room to see this magnificent cake being made- and I mean, it was magnificent! A scenery was being created- a tall burning building (complete with smoke), ladders on the side, little firemen in full uniform climbing up the building- and even one fireman rescuing a little girl. And of course a fire hydrant, firetruck--- everything! And it's all edible! I mean, it's amazing!
So the next episode was the Easter episode. And the cake that was made was this elaborate Easter cake, complete with basket and edible stand-up, 2 1/2 foot bunny. And as they finished the cake and they're trying to move it to the fridge the only thing they keep saying over and over is "Get this bunny into the fridge- she needs to get into the fridge people. Come on, be careful- slower, slower but get this bunny into the fridge!" It was just so hilarious to me to see them worrying over this 2 1/2 foot almost completely frosting bunny.
Ah, I recommend this show for anyone who wants to see a complete creative genius at work-- he is amazing! I can't even draw out on paper what he can make into a cake. It is awesome!

I saw a couple episodes of Cake Boss a little while ago and I just didn't like it as much as I wanted to. See the thing is before I used to watch 'Ace of Cakes' on Food Network back when I had cable and just about everytime I'm staying in a hotel somewhere. It's the same idea as Cake Boss (Cake Boss is a knock off of it actually) but the people and crew are just more fun for me. Basically I was spoiled by Ace of Cakes. Though one of the episodes of Cake Boss I saw involved a huge search for white doves which was entertaining.
I've seen that show on tv before! I should watch it! I thought the title of this blog post was something one of your cute nieces or nephews said lol
Now I'm craving cake . . .dang :P
I have to say...I am with Steph. Ace of Cakes is my main dish...if I had one. I don't have TV so I don't watch many specific shows or with any regularity, but that is one of my faves. It is pretty dang awesome to see some of the things they can create!
