Crazy picture

Haha! There is this place called befunky.com where you can upload pictures and do funny things to them- oh my gosh I was having a blast!!! I recommend it to anyone who is having a slow afternoon!!!

The Plan

Ok, I do have to do better at this (I promise I will Steph--this can be our link to each other :D )

So, for todays readers we have a very interesting blog, titled "The Plan" (like most of you probably already read) and this is my plan for Prom. Which, can I just tell you all I am so excited about!!

So, we are doing a day activity and for our day activity we are doing..drum roll please.. finger painting!! I haven't done finger painting in about 1o+ years (side note: I mowed the lawn a couple of nights ago for the first time in years too! I guess I'll have to get used to doing that more what with Thom leaving and all) and I am so excited! I even warned Zach that he'd more than likely get paint on his face and he still agreed (which makes me worry just a bit that I'll get paint on my face in retaliation) For the actual day activity we are having another couple join us because we're doing the activity at my house and no one else will be home- what with Pam at work, Thom at drill, and mom and dad going to pick up Kim-- and it is just not a good idea to be in a house alone together, not to mention awkward. And I think finger painting will be more fun with 4 people anyway.

Then after we're done finger painting Zach and Tiff's date will take off and Tiffany and I will head over to my friend Bryn's house so she can do my make-up (because Bryn was totally all for helping me today and I was totally all for letting her because all of my sisters are ditching me!!!) and after she's finished making my face gorgeous Tiffany and I will head back to my house so she can do my hair and make the rest of my head gorgeous.

At about 7:30 Zach will come and pick me up and we're going to dinner at The Oakes (that awesome little place up in the canyon, the one with the great view) and various people may or may not be joining us for dinner, we're not really sure about that part yet.

After dinner we'll go to the actual prom, get some pictures, say hi to some friends, do a couple of fun line dances, you know- that sort of thing- and then (this is my favorite part) providing that it's not raining (EVERYONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PRAY FOR ME THAT IT DOES NOT RAIN ON SATURDAY!!!!) we're going to go buy s'more makings and we're going to roast s'mores in my backyard. I am so excited about it!

So, those are my plans-- oh my gosh, I am so excited! You should all be excited with me. :D

I'm sure there will be a follow-up post on Prom for your reading enjoyment. Love you all!

Senior Picture

Right, so a little bit ago (in January in fact) I got some senior pictures taken and since then I have gotten one of the back. And it's perty! And I said I was going to post my senior pictures up when I got them and I have been very slacking in this job. I think my reasoning was that I would just wait until I got all of them-- but I think I should just do it picture by picture as I get them (so in all reality this will be the first of a many part series)

Anyway, here it is. My 'hot model' pose! :D

I mean, obviously some work was done since I no longer have freckles. But I'm ok with that. :) I still love the picture. Looking at it makes me happy! (Oh my gosh- how vain does that sound?)

Prom Dress!

Alright- at the behest of some of you, and to satisfy my own vanity because I am expecting at least three comments telling me how pretty I am :P I'm putting up some pictures of my prom dress on here.

Let me give you a little background first.

On Saturday Pam and I decided to do a little shopping and we decided to stop at a place called Clifton's on Washington that we'd never been to before (just for the record it has nice prom dresses but I don't think I'd ever shop there for regular clothes- they're all old ladyish) and they had some very nice prom dresses--like I just said.

They had normal priced ones (where I found this ADORABLE black and pink one that I loved, but it was $170), then they had half-priced ones- there weren't really any in there that I liked- and then they had the half off of half off ones. (Say that ten times fast!) And there was this periwinkle one (I can't decide if it's purple or blue, so it's periwinkle) that was originally $176 marked down to $44. So not only was it a fantastic price but I loved the dress!

It is sleeveless, because really where are you going to find a modest prom dress for $44? but I've discovered that if I put a white shirt on underneath it almost looks like it is a part of the dress, and once you discover it's not, it still looks pretty good, so that's what I'll be doing.

Ok, here are the pictures.

Ok, I know that none of you wanted to actually
wanted to see this picture, but I had to build
the suspense :D

The dress!

Close up of the sparkles (which is
my favorite part!)

For the record, it is quite hard
to take pictures of yourself.
Also, it is hard to put on a prom
dress by yourself! The zipper?
Holy crap!

Side shot! Heehee, see the funny little rumples
where my shirt ends? Yes, I'd make
sure that didn't happen on the actual
night. Also my hair would be done-
but I've made sure you can't see my
hair in any of these pictures so,
yay for cropping!

More of the sparkles! I sure
do love those sparkles--they
seem to add a subtle elegance
to the dress. Making it still
retain its simplicity, but yet
having you think it's elegant.
"Simple but elegant, lavish but tasteful"
"Cheap but expensive"

LOVE that movie! :D

Anyway, so there it is. Prom is on May 2nd and I'm going with Zach Matheson and I am just so excited!! There will be a post after Prom, I promise! *fingers crossed* I'll get some pictures of the actual night too!

Midnight Showing

This is another blog I meant to post a little while ago but I totally forgot to.

So, since Pamela had a friend who got four free tickets to the Hannah Montana midnight showing we all went. And I actually had a really good time! (Laugh if you will Steph- I don't care)

Besides the hundreds of screaming girls- and a surprising amount of buys- in the theater that seemed to know every single one of her songs I had a really good time.

I thought that it was in general a really cute movie, I don't really care about Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus or anything but I just thought the movie and the concept were cute. And I did like quite a number of her songs. And the guy was HOT!

But yeah, I had a good time. I really wouldn't mind seeing it again. Go redbox!

Exciting News!!

Ah, and I was going to post this on Tuesday, but I totally forgot!

I got a pell grant!!!!!!

I went to apply for student loans for the Utah College of Massage Therapy and I found that I was in line to receive a pell grant as well! Oh I was so excited!!!! Still am actually!

That is a quarter of my tuition that I'll never have to pay back! I just got $3,700 dollars for free! (well, to use for a good cause but other than that...)

I'm so excited!

Summer Dresses

Yes! 'Tis finally the season! The time! And most of all, the weather! to buy a summer dress.

So of course what did I do? Buy one! (Although I must admit that I was torn between this dress I bought and this adorable sweater that I absolutely loved!!! Still do actually...)

I went to Old Navy on Wednesday and bought a beautiful summer dress, and the first of *hopefully* many pairs of flip-flops. (Ironically enough it did start snowing as I was in the store shopping for my dress, but that weather is long behind us now and the last couple of days have been bright and wonderful!)

My dress is beautiful! And, shockingly enough, long. I mean, it comes to past my knees-sitting and standing! How odd for a summer dress yes? (That of course does not mean that I'll stop my original plan of wearing leggings with it every now and then, despite what Thom says)

It's brown and orange and green and purple and cream all tied together in a plaid pattern. It is a tank-top style top so of course no wearing it without a shirt or a jacket :) but it has something close to an empire style although a little different.

When I put it on this morning Thom- being the ever helpful brother he is- told me that it looked like I was trying to hide a pregnancy, which of course made me feel depressed about my brand new dress. But I'm trying to ignore him because I still like it! And I still think I look cute! Stupid Thom....

A little bit of down-time

Wow, instead of opening a post saying that life has been so crazy lately I'm actually going to open one saying how quiet and peaceful it's been- how odd.

But life has indeed been quiet and simple these last few days. On Tuesday the 7th I bid a sad farewell to my sister and her family as they embarked on this great adventure that is life, and then promptly kicked my sister out of my room. (Well, maybe that's a little harsh. My cousin and I removed all of her belongings from my room and placed them all down in hers--in an order we thought she'd enjoy no less)

Then on Wednesday I cleaned. Not a very deep cleaning- I'm sure that'll come later, just a cleaning.

But life has been very quiet--a little (dare I say it) maybe boring. Not that boring is bad, it's just different. Now I just work, I come home to a quiet house~ well, minus the very loud dogs~ and I just clean. And my room has so much space! It's crazy! I'm really not sure what to do with it all. That doesn't mean I want to share with anyone again- oh no- but I don't know what to do with it. Maybe an additional bookshelf, my current one is overflowing.

It was so funny to see the look on Pam's face when she saw her totes come in from the shed. "Wow, I'd forgotten I had this much stuff!" I couldn't actually blame her, I had too. But it was definately nice to have some things you'd forgotten about resurface (especially some fun movies like the 5 hour and 3 minute version of Pride and Prejudice-complete with booklet.)

Of course we've had some nice family time and Easter was a wonderful day complete with good church, good family, and good food (I especially enjoyed the good food- who wouldn't?)

Life is good, life is great! Now, if I can just get myself to that stinking gym every morning...

Another Date!

So, on Friday night I had the chance to go on another date! (This is like, two in three weeks- three if you count the gala- it's totally a record for me!)

It was loads of fun! After I got off work on Friday I quickly went home and changed and then I drove down to Salt Lake and I met my date and the U of U stadium parking lot.

We drove down to the Gateway because I'd never been there before and we went to go see a movie at the Clark Planetarium (so, it was also an educational date) and then we just toured around the gateway and looked at a bunch of stores.

We went to the Apple Store (not the fruit- that's what I thought at first, but no...) we went to the Love Sac, through the Megaplex, and window-gazed into many others.

After that we had dinner at Costa Vida and we were going to have dessert at Ben and Jerry's but by the time we got there they were closed (which severly hurt my heart) so we went to Baskin Robbins instead.

I have to say, I was completely suprised by how comfortable I felt walking around SLC- I'm not a big fan of SL, never really have been- but I was totally comfortable just walking around and talking.

After dessert he drove me to some of his more favorite spots in Salt Lake (which included a very pretty cathedral, and an imported car store where there were Ferraris, Lotus', etc...) and then we went to the U of U campus and I got a very brief tour. (That place is freaking HUGE!)

All in all I had an absolutely amazing time! We just talked and toured and it was so much fun! Will there be a follow-up? Who knows?

Stay in tune for the next report. :P

New Gym

Alright, there seems to be a new gym in town. (Well, to be completely honest I think it's been there for some time- but it's new to me) And I got a membership.

Yep, starting this morning I'm actually trying to be healthy.

I went over with my mom last night and we got started on the membership and this morning at 6:32 we walked in the door and started exercising!

It was really quite laughable how utterly and absurdly out of shape I am! I was huffing and puffing after 5 minutes, I couldn't belive it! How could I have fallen so far? So fast! It's crazy!

But I'm going again tomorrow, and Saturday (because hey, I'm paying for it, I might as well use it right?) and hopefully soon I'll get more in shape and not be dying at the end of 20 minutes.

Oh, and let me just clarify that healthy does not include eating healthy- just exercising to start compensating for the unhealthy food. :D

Let's hope I can keep going!
