Really, the title says it all. There has been a whole lot of nothing going on lately. I mean, once I got back I unpacked, washed clothes, brushed my dog, ran some errands, etc....and today I get to clean the house! I mean I am telling you- people envy my life. :)
Although yesterday I discovered something I'm in desperate need of. See, I was going through my jewelry and I found that I have MUCH more of it than I thought I did. So many necklaces, SO many earrings- I mean it was great to know because I do quite like jewelry, but I found a slight conundrum....I don't really have a place to put them. I mean, I have this fantastic jewelry box but the necklaces get all stuck together and the earrings get all entwined. What I really need is one of those earring holders! You know, the rectangle made out of wood that has some of that mesh netting inside of it and you just stick your earrings on! Man, I would love to get my hands on one of those, but I haven't really seen any in stores recently.
Does anyone know where I could find such a contraption? I mean, freeing up all my earring space would be marvelous because then I could spread out necklaces more. Hmmm, anyone? Anyone at all? Where can I find such a holder?

I've seen things like what you speak of at Claires/Icing though a little while ago - though I don't think the ones they stock would hold a significant portion of your collection. I bet you could make one fairly easily - go to Joann's, grab some cute (like with little glitteries in it ;) ) or even some plain tulle material (or maybe some other thicker netting material) a couple of thick wooden dowels and some matching ribbon. Lay fabric out flat and hot glue a wooden dowel on the top and bottom of the fabric (wrap fabric around dowel to hide wood). Attach ribbon to one doweled end (the side you want to be top) and viola - earing holder. If you decide to take this route I'd get pretty thick dowels that way it sits out from the wall more which will help the earrings hang better. Of course this all an idea in my head so I don't know how well it will work in practice but or the best way to do everything but I think it could work well. If you decide to do it let me know otherwise I might decide it would make a good birthday present. ;)
The exact one that you are talking about was actually made by Poppa, although they do sell similar ones (usually made from metal) at claire's like Stiffy said. Looks like Steph also gave you instructions on how to make one; it really isn't too hard!! Let me know how that goes for you!
