Funny Moments

So, there were two funny kid moments today that I just wanted to record for all time and eternity (or, at least as long as I have my blog...)

The first was when Ethan, Isabelle, Dieuwke, and I were on our way back from Wenatchee. Everyone had just had a good meal, and we had been munching on carrot sticks and that absolutely delicious white cheddar popcorn all day long. Ethan was continuously asking for more and more popcorn and Dieuwke and I kept on refusing him. He tried tactic after tactic, but none would work. Finally, after screwing his face up in concentration, he said, "But Mom!! If I don't get food into my body then I'll starve!!" Dieuwke and I just burst out laughing (clearly NOT the reaction he had hoped for) and assured him that he would be just fine.

(Side note here: While we were dancing in the car to some music Isabelle tried a new dance move. She was punching her hand up into the air while scrunching her face out pushing out her lower lip as far as it would go. HILARIOUS!)

The other moment was later in the day when Aurora and I were cleaning her room. I was utterly slaving away trying to make her bed and when I looked down Aurora was casually putting a puzzle together. "Aurora!" I said in exasperation, "help me clean your room!" And Aurora, calm as a cucumber looked at me and said, "Bonnie, I AM helping! This" gesturing at her puzzle, "is me helping, and that" waving at me making the bed, "is you helping. Ok?"

It was so funny! Man, kids are hilarious!

I love how there is never a shortage of absolutely hilarious things for the people in our family to share about children. I am even more glad that said children have such fabulous personalities, rather than none at all. I just can't get enough of any of them nieces & nephews! Glad you wrote about it!

Fun times...it's great to be able to save those sentences that are all to often lost isn't.
