Money

I feel like singing that song from...well is it either Cabaret or Sweet Charity....I think Cabaret- anyway, it's called Money.

Money is like hell. I just want to say this.

So I got my paycheck! Money! Yay, right? Wrong!

Money for cap and gown, money for yearbook, money for hubcaps, fuses, pressure gage, and gas cap (because yes- laugh as you will I lost my gas cap. I'm hanging my head in shame) Money for girl scout cookies (which ARE an essential) money for phone bill, money for insurance, money for dog food, money for a peeler (because apparently it's my fault the old one is gone) and guilted into money for cookie dough for some sort of charity. (Sorry Steph, I couldn't resist)

Two days and my paycheck is gone. How sad.

I feel like I'm completely lousy at managing money! Does anyone have any tips? Any tips at all? Valerie? Tips people- I need help!

lol I know I always feel the exact same way about money! Of course you have to pay all the essentials like insurance and loan payments and such. Sometimes you need to sacrifice some things out of your budget, and I know I've had to experience that.
Of course, giving up my girl scout cookies is out of the question!! :) lol

Bonnie dear-unfortunately, part of entering into that great world of 'adulthood' includes all your money going to obligations for awhile, until you are able to get ahead. It looks to me like you have already understood a few VERY important principles:
First, always budget out a little for yourself. Because everyone needs to be satisfied by being rewarded by the money they earn, you must spend some on you, or else you naturally overspend on 'essentials' that aren't really essentials.
Secondly, you did not spend more than what you had! SO IMPORTANT!! You made your payments, you spent a little on you, and yes, it is all gone; but it is all gone without you still having to make payments.
Obviously, for me to be your financial planner for real, we need to meet in person!! (When do you want to come up? :) ) But seriously, we can talk more about it if you really want. Love you girly!
