Tutoring

So for those of you who do not know I tutor part time, I mean, I do A LOT of things part time but tutoring is one of them.

I was nervous at first it once began (at first it once began? What am I writing here? Some sort of 18th century novel...?) but it turned out that it was easier than I thought it was going to be. Or it could be that my particular 'charges' are super nice and easy for me to teach.

But today I gave plasma and I had this huge green bandage on my arm. And my girl was fascinated!! It totally cracked me up! She was so interested in the bandage and the blood and plasma donations, it took us forever to get to the actual math and english that I was supposed to be teaching her. But once she did focus it was like some sort of crazy, at attention focus. I'm thinking I might have to donate plasma every day that I'm supposed to go in to tutor. This was nice!!

On a side note it took me FOREVER to donate the full 880 mL of plasma today, like 2 hours! Do you think I was just dehydrated? Or is my blood special? The first time it was ok but man, today took forever!!

Life is just fabulous isn't it? I'm pretty happy these days. Although I am bummed that Valentines Day is coming up. For some reason I'm really ridiculously depressed about that day this year....LAME!

If it took an extra LONG time to donate the plasma, I would say that the needle wasn't in the BEST position.

My suggestion for making a successful valentine's day would be for YOU to make it a GREAT day for someone else. Or you could throw a party and invite some really fun people. A Murder Mystery would be fun. You have 5 days to put it together. That is plenty of time.

I was always a very speedy plasma donator though there was this one time when the technician pushed the needle to far so it came out all right but when the blood was going back in it started to well and bubbled out...yeah not fun. Rather than getting paid for a partial unit they just stuck my other arm and got the rest. But enough about me.
I'm glad you are enjoying tutoring. I'm working with Emmuska on school. It's been a little tricky because Emmuska is so freakin' smart that she gets annoyed when we go too slowly. And I like to make sure things are done right so by nature I go slowly. We are trying to figure out our pattern but while we get there...
Have a great Valentine's smile a lot and deliver goodies for me. You know what they say...fake it til you make it. Smile enough and the day will be awesome just because of the facial workout. (Hey you're burning calories without too much effort...means you get to totally eat something chocolatey and decadent.)

Sorry, no ideas for you about donating...they won't even take me. Good luck!
Glad to hear that tutoring is generally going well; that your kids are good!
